5 tips for the “back to the conservatory “

It’s August and the phrase “Back to school” is already ringing everywhere. This phrase can have two reactions: the one of sadness for leaving the holidays behind or the one of excitement for seeing your colleagues again.

When we talk about music, we would talk about the “return to the conservatory” and the same thing can happen, although at Medina Reeds we are sure that the return to music is better than any other return to the routine, don’t you think? 😉

In this article we have decided to give you 5 tips for an incredible return the world of music.

  1. Do not be overwhelm yourself:

The first thing to keep in mind is not to overwhelm yourself. Think that you decided to study music because you love it and it makes you feel good. Just close your eyes and imagine where you see yourself in several years, as a professional oboist. At first, take it easy until you get back into the routine. A good idea is to meet your colleagues a few days before outside the musical environment to see how their vacation has gone and to make the transition less abrupt.

  • Listen to your favorite songs:

Before going to the conservatory and getting back to the routine, close your eyes and listen to your favorite songs and melodies. They will help you relax, but also motivate you with the return to the conservatory.

  • Prepare the material that you will need:

If you wait at the last minute, you will be more overwhelmed and you may not have all the material you need. Get your oboe reeds, oboe canes and even oboe reed machines. You have everything you need at www.medinareeds.es. If you have any doubts about what you will need, we recommend that you take a look at this article: Back to school for the oboist: must-haves for the oboe.

  • Organization:

We know that sometimes it is difficult to find all the time necessary to practice so we recommend that you organize yourself before starting the return to the routine. Prepare an agenda or an organizer with the days that you have classes and the timings, also put the hours that you will allocate to practice so that you do not forget and do not lose technique.

  • Arrive before to your music lesson:

So that you can be quieter and enjoy the music without any rush, we recommend that you arrive before your conservatory or music lesson so that you can choose the best spot to sit, you will not be in a hurry and you can enjoy the class without stress. In the case of an online class, do the same, prepare everything about 5 minutes before the classes start so that in those 5 minutes you can relax your mind and prepare it to absorb the class to the fullest.
